Dunn's Falls Water Park is nestled in the hills along the Chunky River in south Lauderdale County, near Enterprise. Its centerpiece is a 65-foot waterfall — created in the mid-1850s by Irish immigrant John Dunn — which still powers the park's iconic water wheel.
Beside the falls stands an 1857 grist mill, relocated to the park from Georgia in 1987, and a mill pond stocked with catfish where visitors can fish with a permit. Nature trails wind through the surrounding forest, and the river offers fishing, canoeing, and swimming.
Unlike the district's camping parks, Dunn's Falls is primarily a day-use destination — open Wednesday through Sunday, 9 AM to 5 PM — though primitive campsites and a single cabin are available for overnight stays.
